Hi Jenn, thank you for all the videos, tutorials and recipes!

Tried searching for a good chocolate recipe, but have not been able to.. when you make yours… do you use your normal vanilla one and add chocolate (or you have a shareable recipe)?

First, I would like to state the obvious… You’re amazing! Next I would like to ask how would I go about requesting a cake/cupcake. My daughter will be having a Hawaiian themed birthday party in Sept and I would like to pick your brain on making a cake for the party.

    Thanks for sharing your talent!

    Hi Jenn,
i have tried you oero and nutella cheesecake and it was great!
Sadly the middle layer wasn’t set and it was too liquidy.
After two days it was set and delicious! 😉

Both are quite simple to make. It depends on what you’re looking to make- a dessert type dish, or a cupcake. Either one is delicious!

I am going to attempt a 10″ 3 tiered wedding cake like one of your videos, next week. I’ ve never done a layer cake with the layers so large (thick) and I was wondering if my convection oven would cook faster than your suggested times. I’m still using box mixes if that matters (although it may be time to step up). Only gonna get one shot to get this right and I don’t want to disappoint!
    Thanks!

I don’t bake with box mixes, so unfortunately I’m not able to advise you on how using them in a convection oven would be different. With homemade batters, they cook slightly faster, while on a lower temperature.

Hi, oh my gosh your cakes are amazing, you are amazing.

    I’m Adriana 🙂

This week i have to make a cake for a very important event for my university, next Tuesday its for our christmas official diner, and right now, i’m like “what the hell was i thinking to accept to be the one responsible of making the desert!! :(” i’m totally stressing out.

i have watch soooooo many of your videos, and i am thinking of making the checkerboard cakes, but color “red, green, and white” to stay in the theme of christmas,

I have watch your video of how to make a simple vanilla cake, and i’m going to do that as a base, and make 3 of them, and color 2 cakes, green, and red, and let the third cake white.
As filling i was thinking of a vanilla custard creme, or a buttercream with slices of fruit for the bottom and top layer, but the in between layer i would like a chocolate ganache only.
And as topping, white sugarpaste and then some christmas sugar decoration on the top.
Do you think that will work??
Will it be dry? I’m really scared that my cake end up being too dry.

Please continue to make your cake, you’re such an inspiration to me.

Thanks for your future reply 🙂 …
    Adriana.

    Hi Jen!

I just watched your video on how to make royal icing. I am going to attempt your santa belly cookies and I obviously don’t need a stiff icing. Do I add water to an invidual batch of icing for the flow icing? Can’t wait to try.

how do you achieve such vibrant color to the cakes you make, I like the pink zebra cake, but somehow my pink disappears into the black and I followed your recipe, also blue turns into green. What do you suppose I’m doing wrong?

I use Americolor Gel Paste to colour my cakes, and icings. I’m not sure why your pink would have disappeared, or why your colours are changing. Try new colour is my suggestion.

    Hi,
I was wondering if you could make a tutorial about what is a tablespoon or a teaspoon, like for beginners that really don’t
know how to bake properly. Kind of intrude the different stuff for baking.
Stuff like, what different kind of sugars used for different baking, what kinds of eggs, what kind of coloring, what to use
for putting cream on top of the cake to decorate it. I am really new to this so I don’t really understand it.
If you could make a tutorial, I would really appreciate that.
    Thank you so much!!!

I am looking for your recipes for Vanilla buttercream frosting and vanilla cake. I can’t even find the link for the cake and when I click on the link for the frosting I get giant cupcakes.

Here’s the link for the blog post http://cookiescupcakesandcardio.com/?p=4049 I used the vanilla cake because I wanted the colours to be super bright. You put the colouring in before you bake it (in with the batter). Let me know if you have anymore questions.

    Hi wonderful lady,

let me start by saying i learnt all my cake tips from your Youtube channel when i first started making cakes – the ‘how to cover with fondant’ tutorial was the best and my cake looked very professional!

can you tell me whether your vanilla cake from scratch will be a good cake to decorate with fondant of have you a stronger cake mix you use for cakes to order (such as your AMAZING minecraft cake) – also have you both vanilla and chocolate recipes for this. Thanks so much from here in the UK 🙂 x

Hi there…Yes, the vanilla cake recipe is a good one and it’s heavy so it works well with fondant. I have a chocolate cake recipes up on the channel too. Thanks for watching!

For the Spring contest, I would ask that you do a cakepop seies focused on seasons. For example, Sring time, you could show flowers, butterflies, trees, birds, ladybugs and so forth dedicated to Spring time represented in cakepop form.

    thank you,
    Claudia

Hi, I’m seventeen years old and I always baked using mixes and boxes, until I found your site! I have made several different recipes and they’ve all been a hit! I’ve always loved baking but I NEVER thought it would be something I could do from scratch, but you’ve changed that.
Thank you so much for being an inspiration to me.

I was wondering how much your recipe for the buttercream icing makes? I want to do the camoflage cupcakes, and probably 12 of them.

It depends on how much buttercream you put on top…but I can usually get 18-22 done with it.

Just tried your Egg Nog cupcakes. Wow, to die for. They are so moist and light. Would you have a good white or Vanilla cake recipe? Thanks and keep up the great work in videos with decorating ideas.
