I spent a lot of the time in a minivan while growing up.
A. Lot.
Constantly on the go, our family was alway driving back and forth to my sports events, or back and forth to my brother’s sporting events. Being that Cranbrook is realively in the middle of nowhere as far as sport competition sites, we had to drive, usually for hours, to play a quality game against quality competition.
If we still had that minivan, guaranteed our butt prints would still show impressions of where we were always sitting.
What does this have to do with cupcakes? Well, on said road trips, we were always FORCED to listen to my parent’s choice of music (usually the listening happened from underneath a pillow, which was underneath a sweater, which was underneath a jacket).
Often, the only two things that would bring us out from under our den of clothing was 1. Rod Stewart (yes, I fully admit to that), and 2. The Beatles!
The Beatles music was so catchy and fabulous, that my brother and I loved to join in with my mom for a family sing along. Where was my dad during the sing along? Buried in his own den of silence! When it was his turn to pick the music, it was Rolling Stones all the way.
This iconic foursome was brought to cupcake life when a client of ours sent us a picture for us to use to work from . . . for her daughter’s birthday! How great is that? The upcoming generation, loving The Beatles.
Each cupcake topper is cut out of fondant, and I let them dry over night to stay flat. I hand carved out the details of each face, and of the logo and flag. Underneath the toppers is the fabulously fabulous Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough cupcake, which you can order from my cake business, http://jjscustomcakery.com!
Were you ever tortured having to endure your parent’s music on long road trips?
I like your stuff
I think I tortured my parents the time I got got Glass Tiger stuck in the tape deck driving home from Vancouver…to Northern Alberta! For you Glass Tiger fans out there, yes, it was the red tape. BTW these cupcakes are so cute, highest quality as always! What a fun idea for a Beatles fan.
