Hunger Games Cupcakes- Mockingjay Pin

March 25, 2012 by Jenn

JJ's Custom Cakery, Cranbrook Cakes, Cakes CranbrookThis summer, I read the Hunger Games Trilogy back to back and have been eagerly waiting for the release of the movies!  Finally, the Hollywood moment is upon us, and shockingly, Cranbrook has the movie for the premier week!  Woo hoo!

To celebrate one of the best young adult novel series to be released since Harry Potter, and Twilight, I am having a Hunger Games party!

 Not.

I just wanted to seem like I had an excuse for making Hunger Game CUPCAKES!

I saw a couple of ideas on line that used super cute paper toppers, picks, and props, but I wanted a cupcake that is completely edible.

All you need to make your own Mockingjay Pin:

Chocolate Chips or chocolate baking squares

A piping bag

Wax paper

If you have read the series, you know the importance of the Mockingjay pin that Katniss Everdeen has throughout the books (not giving anything away here, so don’t worry if you haven’t read them yet!).  Due to the importance of the Mockingjay, I thought it would be perfect to create an edible topper for the cupcake that holds a special significance throughout the books.

Have you read the Hunger Games?  If so, what is your favourite part about the books?

Face lift involves procedures to smooth out wrinkles and lines by surgically
tightening the skin of the face. During your consultation visits, ask potential plastic surgeons about
the financing plans they offer. This will give an assurance that the treatment which
has offered is effective and suitable for you.

It is an unfortunate irony that many “nutritional” products people take to
improve their appearance have the side effect of
causing them to go bald. Exercise is important to improve nutrient absorption and can aid in combating
stress. There are a number of lasers used to remove
locks like Ruby aesthetic laser, Alexandrite laser,
Pulsed diode array, Aragon aesthetic laser as well as Nd:YAG.

Houseboats in Echuca are ideal houseboats which
have the accommodations that allow you to relax and explore the
lake with all the comforts of any regular home.
I have been using products from Newfields Baits for a while and
their green lipped mussel extract is simply amazing.
The exception to this rule is when fishing structure,
there will always be a calm spot behind structure that cat fish rest in and it will be natural
for your bait to settle in this area.

These will last for a long time so you could make them at least a week ahead of time and store them in the fridge in an airtight container.
