Learn how to make Smurf cake pops in this video of mine! Of course, being a child of the 80’s The Smurfs were a cartoon classic. Now, that they are back in movie format, I thought it would be a good time to share some Smurf themed treats . . . I’ll have a second Smurf cupcake video coming up soon as well.
Items used in the video:
• Blue melting wafers (melting chocolate)
• Buttercream (Our buttercream video: http://youtu.be/rjqOTM5icOE)
• Cake crumbs
• Blue fondant
• White fondant
• Lollipop sticks
• 2 small paint brushes
• Fondant spatula
• Wilton #12 tip
• Small fondant rolling pin
• Black gel paste coloring
Procedure:
First step is to make your cake pops. I have lots of videos up on that already 🙂 Dip the cake pop in the blue melted chocolate and allow dry. To make the hat, you will need a small amount of fondant (I used .8 gram). Roll it into a ball, then a cone shape, and then work the top of the hat to a point. Using a small amount of water, attach the hat to the top of the cake pop. Next take three small pieces of blue fondant, and roll one into a ball for the nose. The other two pieces are rolled into “worms” and then bring the ends together to make a “c” and these are the ears. Attach to the pop with water. Cut out two small white fondant pieces for the eyes, attach with water and apply the pupil with black gel paste using a small paint brush. Using the black gel paste, draw on a mouth.
Happy Baking!
