This cake was fun to make as it combined my love of ice cream and rainbows! I also figured out the secret to Dairy Queen’s chocolatey fudge bottom on their ice cream cakes, and this makes the cake amazing!

This rainbow cake is what brought us into YouTube cake land. This is our most viewed cake video, with over 31 million views as of writing this post. 31 MILLION. Wow. I definitely don’t have that many friends- or maybe my mom has just been watching it on repeat….for the last 4 years.

I loved making this cake so much! Collecting the candles, dripping the buttercream- it was all so much fun to work on. AND EASY! It looks like it’s a lot of work, but it really isn’t.
Rainbow Nerds Cake
You have to be a candy fanatic to make this cake! Placing all of the Nerds onto the cake in the proper area takes time and patience, but the resulting rainbow swirl design is pretty amazing for a cake.
