Today I am showing you how to make a Shopkins Shoppies Cake, featuring Donutina, Jessicakes, Bubbleisha! I’ve done two other Shopkins cake tutorials, so make sure to check out Wishes, a Birthday Cake Shopkins, and Rainbow Bite Shopkins cake!

The greatest perk of my job is getting to hunt down and then buy the most adorable kids toys on the market! Moose Toys (who makes Shopkins) is quite brilliant that they released a line of dolls under the title of “Chef Club” Shopkins Shoppies, and as soon as I saw them, I knew I had to make them into cakes! With names playing off of cake, donut, and bubblegum, how could I not!?
I definitely loved Bubbleisha’s hair, and I think I’m going to use it for upcoming inspiration! LOL
Bubbleisha Doll Cake
Ingredients and Materials:
- Prepared Vanilla cake
- Prepared Pink Vanilla buttercream
- Shopkins Shoppies Bubbleisha
- Pink and purple pearlized gumballs
- Pink gelatin bubble
Procedure:
- Cut out rounds from prepared cake, 3”, 2 ½”, 2 ¼”. Stack rounds with buttercream filling in between the layers. Cover stacked cakes in buttercream.
- Cover dress in gum balls, stopping 1-2 rows from the top.
- Remove a small section of cake from the top, enough to fit the doll into the space. Press the clean doll down into the cake.
- Finish placing gum balls over the cake.
Creating each of the dolls cake for this larger cake was done with carved cake pieces. You could also use a mini doll cake pan, which will give you small tapered cakes.
Donutina Doll Cake
Ingredients and Materials:
- Prepared Vanilla cake
- Prepared Vanilla buttercream
- Shopkins Shoppies Donutina
- Brown and white fondant
- Donuts/donut holes
- Donut Sprinkles
- Jimmies
Procedure:
- Cut out rounds from prepared cake, 3”, 2 ½”, 2 ¼”. Stack rounds with buttercream filling in between the layers. Cover stacked cakes in buttercream.
- Cover cake in white fondant. Roll out brown fondant and scallop the edges. Drape the brown fondant over the white and it should look like glaze dripping. Press jimmies into the still soft fondant.
- Remove a small section of cake from the top, enough to fit the doll into the space. Press the clean doll down into the cake.
- Attach donut sprinkles to the bottom of the dress with a small dab of water.
If you don’t know about Canada’s favourite coffee chain, you’ve got to get yourself some of their coffee, and more importantly, donuts! Another perk of the job is definitely “having” to get donuts for the cake. I used one of the larger traditional ones for it, as well as a Timbit!
Jessicakes Doll Cake
- Prepared Vanilla cake
- Prepared Vanilla buttercream
- Giant Cupcake
- Pink and blue fondant
- Jimmies
- Cherry candies
Procedure:
- Cut out rounds from prepared cake, 3 ¼”, 2 ¾”, 2x 2 ½”, 2 ¼”. Stack rounds, starting with a 2 ½” at the base, up to the largest in the middle, and then to the smallest on top, with buttercream filling in between the layers. Cover stacked cakes in buttercream.
- Wrap a blue strip of fondant around the base of the cupcake, for the wrapper. Using a ball and veining tool, mark the cupcake with wrapper creases. Roll out pink worms of fondant, and wrap around the top of the cake in a spiral, moving upwards towards the top.
- Remove a small section of cake from the top, enough to fit the doll into the space. Press the clean doll down into the cake.
- Roll out a piece of round fondant, approximately 8” round. Remove a small circle from the center, and cut a slice from the edge to the circle. Transfer that piece of fondant to the doll, placing the waist in the opening. Smooth fondant to accentuate the spiraled fondant underneath. Trim pink fondant where it meets the blue fondant.
- Press jimmies into the still soft fondant.
Once you have the doll cakes completed, you can serve them as is, or you can assemble all of the dolls on to one large cake! I definitely wanted to create a cake with varying heights, so the creation of cake tiers is how I brought that element to life. For this cake, I use a single layer of a 6″ round, for Jessicakes, and a double layer 8″ round cake for Donutina.
Shopkins Shoppies Doll Cake (Bubbleisha, Jessicakes, Donutina)
- To assemble the cake in it’s entirety, cover an 8″ round cake, and a 6″ round cake in light pink buttercream. Cut out a half moon shape from the edge of the smaller cake so that it can snugly fit in beside the larger one.
- Place Donutina on the highest tier, and add a large donut, donut hole, and a lollipop!
- Place Jessicakes on the smaller tier and add cherry candy, large cupcake, sprinkles and sixlets!
- Place Bubbleisha on the cake board base and add a gelatin bubble to her area along with sprinkles and sixlets as well.
