I’m so excited to finally get my hands on a KitchenAid Mini Artisan Stand Mixer! I put it through a review to see if it really is 20% smaller, and 25% lighter than the Classic! I challenge it’s “soft start” function, capacity and power! Because I love my subscribers so much, I also bought one of you a Mini Mixer! To enter, you must be subscribed to the channel, like the video and leave a comment about what you will bake with the mixer first. I will be choosing a random winner during my livestream on Sunday November 27. The giveaway is open to Canada and the USA as the cost of shipping such a large item internationally is expensive.

KitchenAid came out with a new mixer a few months ago, and I am so excited to have an extra one to giveaway to one of you guys. You can enter here on the blog if you want, but it won’t count. Neither will messaging me. Emailing me. Or entering any place other than the comment section on the YouTube video. I have a love/hate relationship with contest. I love to give things to you guys, but I hate when people don’t follow the rules. It’s the bossy oldest child, and kindergarten teacher in me.
I absolutely loved the Mini. I thought it did an excellent job keeping up with the bigger machines. According to KitchenAid, this is the first time they have decreased the size of a mixer since the 60’s and they did a great job of it. It has officially taken over the regular sized Artisan’s counter space and will be the star of the show from now on. I only wish I had been able to get the pink (Guava Glaze) color but they didn’t have them in stock at my local store. Empire Red is pretty hot though, and actually the Matte Black version that is the giveaway one is beautiful too.

Mixer Specifications
Height
Mini: 12.3″
Classic: 14″
Artisan: 14″
Pro 5: 16.5″
The decreased height of the mini was definitely noticeable when stacked up against the other mixers, but not really apparent when it was alone.
Weight
Mini: 18 lbs
Classic: 25 lbs
Artisan: 26 lbs
Pro 5: 30 lbs
At only 8 pounds lighter than the classic, I was shocked at how easy it was to move around! I didn’t think that 8 pounds would make that much of a difference, but it totally did. It was so much easier to move around than the other machines.
Price (USD)
Mini: $400
Classic: $350
Artisan: $430
Pro 5: $500
The first KitchenAid mixer I got was the Classic. I got it on sale for around $200 CDN. It is the best investment I have ever made. I’ve had it for 6+ years and have had absolutely no problems with it. Well, except for that one time I poked a wet cloth into the brushed motors while it was still plugged in. Can’t really blame the mixer for that one though! For the price of the Mini, being that it is $50 USD more than the Classic, I might be inclined to buy the classic again. It’s seriously been that good. But, there is one huge problem with the Classics- they’re only available in white and black. For me, getting Gauva Glaze would be worth the extra $50.
Wattage
Mini: 250 Watts
Classic: 250 Watts
Artisan: 325 Watts
Pro 5: 500 Watts
I did not notice a difference in power between the Classic and the Mini, which is a good thing. Being that the bowl capacity is smaller in the Mini, the challenge you can put the 250W motor up against won’t ever be what you can to the Classic. Interestingly, I have always thought that the Classic was more powerful than the Artisan based on how my two machines operated, but no! The Artisan is supposed to be more powerful than the Classic. Maybe I got an Artisan lemon as I cannot get it to do what the Classic does. It always sounds weird and laboured. I think it’s best to write about the “Soft Start” feature the mixer has in this section. Be warned, “Soft Start” does not mean you can start the mixer on full blast. That’s all I have to say on that feature.
Capacity
Mini: 3.5 Quarts
Classic: 4.5 Quarts
Artisan: 5 Quarts
Pro 5: 5 Quarts
Like I mentioned above, the bowl capacity on the mini is significantly smaller than the other bowls, and unfortunately you can’t interchange the bowls like you can with the Artisan and Classic. It makes a nice sized loaf of bread, 5 dozen cookies, and half a cake batter. I know for sure it wouldn’t fit my entire recipe for cakes.

I have to get this mixer. I’ve been wanting a kitchenaid for years but going back and forth trying to decide what would work best for me and always wishing for a smaller option. Now it’s here. I can’t wait to make Christmas cookies this year. This is a gift I have to get for myself.
Would love making cookies with my 5 yr old daughter. I see many yummy Christmas cookie traditions if I had this mixer
please can i win the mini kichrn acid set please
The mixer review was very helpful. I’ve been looking to get a stand mixer since I worked my other to it’s death. I would love another mixer to bake more cakes with my son who enjoys baking as well.
Thanks so much for introducing me to the mini! I didn’t even know it existed but now it’s on my Christmas list.
I never had a mixer.not even an electric hand mixer.been using only ordinary whisk and fork. If given a chance to be blessed by you would like to bake cheesecake and Almond Butter cookies for Christmas.
Thank you
Would Love making loaded cookies for Christmas or making and decorating cupcakes!

So glad to see this review. I’be been considering getting a mixer but didn’t know where to start. I would defiantly make Christmas cookies first!
