Both of these recipes are super easy, super simple and super quick. I almost feel guilty showing you how to make these are they are so easy and you’re likely to have cookie monster fudge and bark around 24/7 now! So I apologize if this ends up affecting you like that LOL. I’ve used this fudge recipe before for my Heart Shaped Valentine’s Day Fudge so I knew it would work perfectly for this idea. You can place the fudge into molds if you prefer, or place it in a square container like I did for slicing.
Cookie Monster is one of my favourite characters from Sesame Street, so when I put the call out to my local friends that have children asking for Cookie Monster stuff for the video, no one had anything! He is not cool anymore? How could a giant blue monster that loves cookies NOT be cool!? But come to think of it, I haven’t heard much about Sesame Street in a long time so who knows what’s up with that.
Both of these recipes can be done in 5 minutes, the longest part of the procedure is waiting for the chocolate to solidify in the fridge. You can leave the fudge a little bit chewy and slice after 5 minutes of cooling, or you can leave it in the fridge for longer and have it be a bit more firm. Keep in mind that the firmer the fudge is, the cleaner the cut is.
Cookie Monster Fudge
Ingredients:
- 3 cups chocolate melting wafers (royal blue)
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- Chopped chocolate chip cookies and Oreos
- Candy eyeballs
Procedure:
- Line an 8″x 8″ square baking pan with plastic wrap and set aside.
- Place chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and melt in 60 second intervals until the chocolate is smooth.
- Pour milk into melted chocolate and stir until combined.
- Press chocolate mixture into the prepared pan and use a spatula to flatten it down.
- Press cookie chunks into the fudge, and press the eyeballs into the chocolate in pairs.
- Place pan into the fridge to solidify.
- To remove the fudge, pull up on the plastic wrap to lift it out of the pan and cut into squares with a sharp knife.
- Chocolate fudge can be made ahead of time, kept in a sealed container in the fridge and served when desired.
Cutting the Cookie Monster bark is the only stressful part of either recipe! If you’re a ball of nerves like me it’s stressful, if you’re more easy going, you’re probably be fine! You can either cut the chocolate bark with a super sharp knife, or you can break it apart with your hands. The cutting with the knife yields the smoothest cut, and the breaking of the bark leaves the edges ragged so it depends on the look you want.
