Today I am showing you how to make a truly GIANT Dr Pepper Gummy Bottle. In my previous video and post, I called the 500 mL bottles that I made into gummies “giant”, but nope, that was a total lie! It wasn’t at the time, but it is now that I’ve made a 2 liter gummy!
I can’t begin to tell you how satisfying slicing into these gummy bottles are. I love it, and if Paul would let me, I’d cut the bottle into a million little pieces on camera if I could. It’s mesmerizing. Must be something to do with the optical illusion of it all.
Figuring out how much gelatine to use is the hardest part of these types of recipes. You don’t want to add too much, but you want it to be hard enough to stay together when you’re removing the plastic bottle. You can get away with using less that I did, but make sure you have coated the inside of the bottle really well with non-stick spray. The dark sodas are really tricky to get out of the plastic.
For this video, I didn’t slice the plastic open ahead of time. It is WAY easier like this. You don’t have to worry about the bottle leaking all over your fridge. You will have to make sure that your knife is super sharp though. If you’re feeling resistance from the bottle, it might not be sharp enough.

Good morning,
I have heard that when adding the gelatin and the soda the sweetness actually decreases. Some people say to use corn syrup as a sweetening agent. So my question is did you have to add corn syrup? Do you think it needs to be added? If so how much?
Thank you,
Rosalie
Hi there…I didn’t try adding any corn syrup. But that is a good idea!
