February 2013 Contest

I have just gone through the hundreds (yes, hundreds) of comments that have already come through my YouTube channel’s February Contest, and I have been incredibly humbled.  The thoughtful, inspirational and awe inspiring comments have blown me away. 

When we started CupcakesandCardio I never thought that anything would come of it.  Never.  Now, we have people from all over the world who tune in and watch what I’m making each week.  It is incredibly humbling. 

Like, seriously Amy has tried, every one of my recipes?!?!  How amazing is that?

I love this comment because I have to think about all of the “famous” chef’s and bakers I know . . . they are all MALE!!  I think Adrian has a great future 🙂  And, I would love to visit his future bakery.

This comment really got to me to . . . having the effect on someone who had stopped baking, and being a piece of the motivation to start again?  All I can say is “Wow.”

Now, this comment from lovedancing2477 made me tear up.  Surgeries, chemo and depression?  I am so incredibly honoured to have a place in this person’s life, a place I didn’t know I had.  I wish them the best of luck.

“Breaking the language barrier between me and my niece through baking”. . . how could I have EVER guessed when we made our first (poorly made) video, that our videos would have this place in a person’s life.  I NEVER would have believed it, even if I could have seen into the future.

I have not written this post to brag.  I have written this post to let anyone reading it know that I am honoured that you have taken time out of your day to read my blog or to watch one of my videos or who leave thoughtful, inspiring comments. 

I also write it to remember.  To remember why I do it.  To remember how interconnected we are, and to remember how a small comment, can go a long way.
