We are on a roll with the Christmas decorating videos these days! It’s so much fun! The ideas are endless, there are unending Pins to Pin on Pinterest and it’s just a jolly good time around this holiday. The thing that gets me every year, and I’m guilty of it, is that WHY IS IT SO STRESSFUL?
Every year, I approach the season with excitement, but as soon as December is two weeks old, I’m freaking out and a ball of stress!! There is always so much to do at home- baking, decorations, finding the perfect tree, wrapping all the presents. At school- Christmas Concert practice, Secret Santa, decorations, Gingerbread Houses, and now, add a business to the mix- cupcakes, cakes, cookies, platters!
There are always so many gifts to buy, despite the fact that every year I say “I’m going to give the gift of time with my family” as if I’m gift enough . . . hahahaha! I’d like to think that I am 😉 but I’m sure they would think differently. I know that I must be on crack when I have those thoughts as they just delay my inevitable freak out, as I run around shopping to buy things I swore I wasn’t going to.
I do like to give things for people who help me on a daily basis in my classroom, for they are the ones who make my day run smoothly and I truly appreciate what they do for me and my class. I also like to give something to the people who I am close to, but don’t necessarily have enough time to spend with them anymore. My Bestest and I are giving each other the gift of time as we are planning a Bestest dinner out together!
Rudolph is the favourite reindeer in my classroom this year, and after talking all about him during the day, I took inspiration from the chatter and decided to create a 3D Fondant Reindeer replica that can be used for cakes or even a large cupcake!
For this video tutorial, I wanted to come up with something that was easy for the beginner cake decorator, but challenging enough that it would be interesting for the experienced fondant users out there!
Thank you for sharing your ideas and videos with us, I have just iced my Xmas cake and will be decorating it over the weekend with no ideas or experience how to start, then I came across your tutorials, I will be putting the snow man and reindeer into practice, xx
