The 80’s was a wonderful time. I got my first (and only) Nintendo Game Boy. It was such a fight to get from my parents as they were convinced video games would rot your mind. Turns out they were wrong- very wrong- but that’s a whole other story! If your parents are like mine were, here’s a way you can play Tetris for “research!”
I spent hours playing Tetris . . . it and Super Mario were the only games I really got into. When I found this Tetris mold on Amazon, I knew I had to resurrect my childhood game and make these gummies! Once I got over the excitement of finding my toy in my old bedroom at my parents, I was caught up playing it for a while. It still worked. All it needed was some fresh batteries.
Once I was done my “research” 20 minutes later, I got down to work figuring out how to make these gummies. I’ve made homemade gummy worms and gummy bears before, and I essentially used the same recipe for that, but with less gelatin this time.
The mold holds 3/4 cup of water, so I used 1/2 cup of water to go with the crystals, and the measurement worked out perfectly. Make sure you spray the silicone mold before you work with it though, as it makes it way easier to get the gummies out. If you’re impatient, like me, you can cheat the waiting time, and put the tray in the freezer for 10-20 minutes. It helps the gummies set faster, but make sure you don’t freeze them into ice cubes!
