I love me Lucky Charms. I love them so much, I felt it was my duty to force my Kindergarten’s to do Math with them last week. Math? Lucky Charms? You bet! You were probably thinking that cereal is meant to be consumed in a bowl, with milk. I’m here to save you from yourself, and let you know that not only are they a learning material, they can be eaten without a spoon in treat form!
If you are as obsessed with Lucky Charms as I am, you’ll be happy to know that I have made another creation using the marshmallows. Yes, just the marshmallows! A while back, I made Unicorn Barf, and all that you need for that idea is the Lucky Charms marshmallows. Back then, I was much too lazy to sort the marshmallows out of the bag, so I actually bought a bag of the marshmallows only. No work needed!! There’s link to the bag ‘o marshmallows in the Unicorn Barf post.
Anyway, these treats are equally delicious, and definitely worth the effort of separating the cereal!
Lucky Charms Treats
Ingredients:
- Box of Lucky Charms
- White chocolate
Procedure:
- Separate marshmallows and cereal bits into two separate bowls.
- Melt white chocolate in the microwave, in 30 second intervals, stirring after each, until chocolate is smooth.
- On a baking tray lined with parchment paper or silicone liner, spread cereal pieces out flat.
- Pour melted chocolate on top, and mix until cereal pieces are coated in chocolate.
- Press marshmallow pieces on to the top of the chocolate covered cereal. You need to press hard enough to have the pieces stick to the chocolate, but not so hard that the marshmallows are crushed.
- Allow to harden (20-30 minutes) or place in the fridge to speed the process up.
- Slice with a knife and serve in chunks.
