To know Hilah from Hilah Cooking, is to love her. She is easy going, funny and a talented cook! I have been watching her videos for a while on YouTube . . . I think we started around the same time . . . and what I LOVE about her channel is her humor (you have to be listening closely or you might miss it) and her flair with Mexican/Southern inspired foods. We don’t have much Southern influence up here in Canada, but despite that, I LOVE Mexican food. I could eat tacos, taco salads, nacho’s and fajita’s any day of the week. While watching Hilah’s channel I learned that there were so many more choices than just tacos . . . I’m sure not all Canadians are as sheltered as me, so don’t judge us all on behalf of me. Sorry Canada.
Anyway, I met Hilah at our recent trip to LA to visit YouTube Space LA, and she invited us along to shoot a quick video at the Tastemade Network studios in Santa Monica. She wanted to do a bar themed series, so a bunch of us YouTubers headed over to Tastemade with our beverage of choice, and the drinks started to flow (and be filmed).
Michelada Ingredients:
• Beer
• Clamato juice
• (Limes) lime juice
• Hot Sauce
• Worcestershire sauce
Procedure:
Squeeze fresh lime juice into a large beer stein or glass. Fill glass with ice cubes. Season with hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce as desired and stir to combine. Fill with beer of choice and enjoy!
And I taught her how to make a Caesar, the Canadian Way!
Ingredients:
Clamato Juice
Vodka
Worcestershire Sauce
Hot Sauce (Tabasco)
Celery Salt (Caesar rimmer preferred but I couldn’t find it in the States)
Limes
Horseradish
Pickled beans
Use lime to rim glass and roll rim in celery salt. Fill glass with ice and pour in 1oz (or desired amount) of vodka. Add the juice of a slice of lime. Fill with clamato juice and season as desired. Usually a splash of Tabasco and Worcestershire is plenty. Add a teaspoon of horseradish, stir and garnish with a pickled bean.
