Father’s day is another one of those special holidays that you want to treat your loved ones special, and those people who are close to you definitely deserve it! Not to give you information overload, but my dad and I have always had a very close relationship, but it hasn’t been without it’s differences. We are very similar in our dominant Type A personalities and is a relationship that I value dearly.
The Father’s Day cupcakes that I have made will not be for every type of Dad out there, but mine went to work each day wearing a shirt and tie. My brother and I bought him countless ties for Father’s Day, birthdays and Christmas’, so when I decided to make this video, I thought it would be perfect!
So if you have a father that has to “dress up” to go to work each day, make these for him, and show him how important he is to you!
How to Make Father’s Day Cupcakes: Fondant Neckties
– Cupcakes (any type you like)
– White Gumpaste
– Fondant (red and grey)
– Buttercream (any type you like)
– Fondant tools
The procedure for making the cupcakes is very simple, but requires some finicky fondant work. You will first need to work with the gum paste, as it will provide the collar for the shirt. Roll out a thin piece of gum paste, cut it into a rectangle, and fold the upper corners down and to the middle of the shape. Next, using the fondant, or a fondant/gum paste mix, cut out the tie, and decorate it as you would like! Allow it to dry before putting on top of iced cupcakes.
Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful Dad’s out there, and especially to mine!
Happy Baking!
