Here’s a fun Easter cupcake decorating idea … digging bunnies! In this video we show you how to make a fondant rabbit digging in a cupcake. It’s super easy, super cute, and can be created by any level of decorator!
What you will need:
You will need baked cupcakes, cookie crumbs, and green buttercream with grass tip for the cupcakes.
For the toppers you will need, pink fondant, white fondant, circle cutters, spaghetti pieces (or toothpicks), tylose glue (tylose and water mixture) or gum glue (gum paste and water mixture) or water, and white tiny Nonpareils.
To start, roll out your pink fondant and cut out amounts of it for the rabbit feet and for the body. Roll each of the pieces into round balls. Set the larger ball for the body to the side. Shape the smaller two pink balls into oblong/rectangles for the feet and flatten slightly. For the rabbit tail cut out a small piece of white fondant and roll into a ball. Take a small piece of spaghetti, or a toothpick and insert it into the ball of fondant. Using the tylose glue, and a paintbrush, cover the ball entirely with the glue, and then dip the ball into the small sprinkles (while holding onto the spaghetti piece). Make sure to cover the ball entirely.
To assemble, attach the rabbit feet with a small amount of tylose glue, and insert the spaghetti piece into the body.
Allow to dry.
For the cupcakes, start out with a small amount of chocolate crumbs in the middle of the cupcake (this will be the dirt) and then using the grass tip, pipe a border of grass around the outside of the cupcake.
Put the bunny up on top, and your Easter Bunny Bum Cupcake is complete!
Enjoy!
