Thank goodness I don&#8217;t do that since no one needs to see that! \u00a0Side note- they said that if you eat in front of a mirror, you will eat less. \u00a0Hmmm, I&#8217;m going to have to put a mirror on the dinner table. \u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/DSC_0549site.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-7629\" title=\"Homemade Cannoli\" src=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/DSC_0549site.jpg\" alt=\"Homemade Cannoli\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/DSC_0549site.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/DSC_0549site-300x168.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Cannolis are traditional Italian pastries, but be clear that if you are taking these to a traditional Italian family and you want to impress the lady of the house, do not put sprinkles on! \u00a0It&#8217;s like sacrilegious or something to Italians. \u00a0I know this because I showed my Italian Mother In Law these, and she sniffed. \u00a0Just sniffed. \u00a0At me. Not the cannoli. \u00a0It wasn&#8217;t a happy sniff either. I&#8217;m assuming it was the sprinkles present, which ruined the whole thing in her mind. Either that or she was mad I didn&#8217;t let her teach me an Italian dessert again this year. \u00a0Last year she taught be how to make <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/R4-4HLN9D-8\" target=\"_blank\">Italian Peach Cookies<\/a>.\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Despite the fact these didn&#8217;t pass the MIL&#8217;s sniff test, they are some of the most wonderful desserts I have ever made. \u00a0They take a lot of work, but if you&#8217;re up for a day of frying dough, try this homemade cannoli recipe!\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Cannoli Recipe\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div>Ingredients:<\/div>\n<div>Shells<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 cups flour<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>10 tablespoons (+2-3 additional tbsp if needed) Marsala wine<\/li>\n<li>Cannoli forms- get them <a href=\" http:\/\/amzn.to\/1NQWwtu\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>egg white for wash<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>Filling<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup icing sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 cup granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li>32 ounces ricotta cheese (drained)<\/li>\n<li>1 cup whipping cream<\/li>\n<li>1 cup mini chocolate chips<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/DSC_0599SITE.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-7630\" title=\"Cannoli Recipe \" src=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/DSC_0599SITE.jpg\" alt=\"Cannoli Recipe \" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/DSC_0599SITE.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/DSC_0599SITE-300x168.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Procedure:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Shells<\/div>\n<ol>\n<li>Combine flour, cinnamon, shortening, salt and sugar in a food processor.\u00a0 Process until the mixture is like fine sand.<\/li>\n<li>Add Marsala through the chute, until the mixture forms a ball.\u00a0 You may need to use 1-2 additional tablespoons of marsala if the mixture is too dry to come together.<\/li>\n<li>Wrap in plastic wrap and let sit on the counter for 1-2 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Roll out dough with a rolling pin, or run through a pasta maker to make a thin sheet of dough.\u00a0 Cut out dough with a round cutter approximately 4&#8243; in diameter.<\/li>\n<li>Wrap dough circles around a cannoli form, and seal edge with a small dab of egg white.<\/li>\n<li>Heat oil to 315F- 325F.\u00a0 Place cannolis into the hot oil and gently hold in place, turning until golden brown.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Transfer to a piece of paper towel to cool.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Dip ends into chocolate and sprinkles if desired, and set aside to harden.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Filling<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Whip whipping cream until soft peaks form.<\/li>\n<li>In a small bowl combine sugars and cheese.\u00a0 Gently fold in whipping cream.<\/li>\n<li>Continue to fold while adding chocolate chips.<\/li>\n<li>Transfer filling to a piping bag and squeeze filling into each end of the cannoli.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Consume within a few hours of filling.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/DSC_0611site.jpg\"><img
