{"id":6607,"date":"2015-06-04T14:30:17","date_gmt":"2015-06-04T14:30:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.com\/?p=6607"},"modified":"2015-06-07T18:05:20","modified_gmt":"2015-06-07T18:05:20","slug":"dinosaur-fossil-jurassic-world-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/?p=6607","title":{"rendered":"Jurassic World Fossil Dinosaur Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Jurassic Park movie scared the bejebus out of me when I was a kid. \u00a0I have no idea why I am looking forward to seeing the new movie, Jurassic World, as the trailer for it looks just as scary as the Park version! \u00a0 Why must these people make dinosaur PARKS?? \u00a0WHY!? \u00a0It&#8217;s torture to sit through. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll be sure to get a giant popcorn and pop and to sit through the whole movie.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rFv9SsATJ2o\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve always been fascinated with dinosaurs. \u00a0The thought that these humongous creatures roamed the world millions of years before we did is so intense. \u00a0My favourite course in university was called <em>The Evolution of Life Through Time<\/em>, and I finally got to learn, in an educated setting, about these giant creatures. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you are also fascinated by dinosaurs, you must come and visit us in Canada to visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tyrrellmuseum.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Royal Tyrrell Museum<\/a>. \u00a0It&#8217;s about a 5 hour drive from where I live, and has full size dinosaur models in the museum. \u00a0It&#8217;s SO cool! \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>My dad and mom used to bring my brother and I dinosaur fossil models when we were kids. \u00a0No wonder we were dorks! What kind of parent brings their kids home fossil models!?!?! \u00a0 Teacher parents, that&#8217;s who! \u00a0Kidding- I loved them, and had them all hanging from my ceiling in my bedroom.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Dinosaur Fossil (Jurassic World) Cake\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>10&#8243;<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/bbDAJZhpvbo\" target=\"_blank\"> chocolate cake<\/a> (10 cups batter)\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/948maLMHQy0\" target=\"_blank\">chocolate buttercream<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/jurassic.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Jurassic World Logo template\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<li>chocolate rocks<\/li>\n<li>graham cracker and oreo crumb mixture (this is the &#8220;dirt&#8221;)<\/li>\n<li>melted white chocolate (in piping bag)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/DSC_4817web.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-6613\" title=\"Jurassic World Fossil Dinosaur Cake\" src=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/DSC_4817web.jpg\" alt=\"Jurassic World Fossil Dinosaur Cake\" width=\"599\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/DSC_4817web.jpg 800w, https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/DSC_4817web-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Procedure:<\/div>\n<div>\n<ol>\n<li>Secure logo to baking tray, and cover with parchment paper. \u00a0Trace logo with white chocolate. \u00a0Set aside to harden completely. \u00a0This is the &#8220;fossil&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>Place logo (paper) on top of 10&#8243; round chocolate cake. \u00a0Using a knife, score the area around the outside to determine the &#8220;dig&#8221; area. \u00a0Going to a depth of 1\/2&#8243;- 1&#8243;, remove the cake from the area.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Cover cake, except &#8220;dig&#8221; area with chocolate buttercream.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle &#8220;dirt&#8221; mixture and chocolate rocks on sides, and top of cake and cake board.<\/li>\n<li>Once chocolate &#8220;fossil&#8221; is set, transfer it to the &#8220;dig&#8221; area in the cake.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Brush a small amount of additional &#8220;dirt&#8221; and rocks on and near to the fossil.<\/li>\n<li>Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
