{"id":6308,"date":"2015-02-27T15:19:57","date_gmt":"2015-02-27T15:19:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.com\/?p=6308"},"modified":"2015-02-27T20:09:33","modified_gmt":"2015-02-27T20:09:33","slug":"how-to-make-a-minecraft-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/?p=6308","title":{"rendered":"How to Make a Minecraft Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I bought myself a Nintendo for Christmas. \u00a0Guess what game I wanted to play first? \u00a0Minecraft! \u00a0Well, that&#8217;s a lie. \u00a0It was vintage Super Mario, but that doesn&#8217;t go with this cake. \u00a0Guess what game I wanted to play second? \u00a0Minecraft!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ibi-nNDzvlw\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Once, many moons ago, I made a <a title=\"Minecraft Cake\" href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/?p=3486\" target=\"_blank\">grass block Minecraft cake<\/a>, and that took such a ridiculous amount of time, that I decided I would never do it again. \u00a0So when I thought about making another Minecraft cake,\u00a0I chose to make this cake out of mini cake blocks instead of one big giant one. \u00a0Both giant block cakes, and Minecraft landscape cakes have been created in wonderful ways already all over the internet. \u00a0So my problem was how was I going to produce a fresh cake idea when I was late to the party? \u00a0I decided (with Paul&#8217;s expert advice . . aka his idea) to go with a background\/backdrop of the cake being an un-mined, yet to be explored area that Minecraft Steve is working on, and in front of him, an area of land where he has already been, therefore exposing the various different block types.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Choosing the type of block material is pretty much up to you, but I decided to go with\u00a0Oreo Marshmallow cubes for bedrock or other stone block, brownies for coarse dirt or granite, blondie cubes for sand blocks and jello cubes for water blocks. \u00a0These are all pretty flexible ideas and by playing with colours, or add-ins, you could make different types of blocks. \u00a0I found this<a href=\"http:\/\/hydra-media.cursecdn.com\/minecraft.gamepedia.com\/3\/32\/Template1.png\" target=\"_blank\"> template<\/a> of the various types of Minecraft blocks to be helpful. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/DSC_1642site.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-6313\" title=\"Minecraft Creeper Cake\" src=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/DSC_1642site.jpg\" alt=\"Minecraft Creeper Cake\" width=\"599\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/DSC_1642site.jpg 800w, https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/DSC_1642site-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Minecraft Cake<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:\u00a0<\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>2- 12&#8243; X 18&#8243; cakes<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/948maLMHQy0\" target=\"_blank\">chocolate buttercream<\/a> \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>green <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/rjqOTM5icOE\" target=\"_blank\">vanilla buttercream<\/a> \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>prepared <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/W43BeIHqSvM\" target=\"_blank\">blonde brownie bars<\/a> \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>prepared<a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/g99f08jnUww\" target=\"_blank\"> oreo marshmallow bars<\/a> \u00a0 \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>prepared<a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/dq8sW2buC4o\" target=\"_blank\"> brownies\u00a0(with and without nuts)<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>prepared blue Jello<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/DSC_1695site.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-6314\" title=\"Minecraft Steve\" src=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/DSC_1695site.jpg\" alt=\"Minecraft Steve\" width=\"598\" height=\"398\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/DSC_1695site.jpg 800w, https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/DSC_1695site-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 598px) 100vw, 598px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Procedure:<\/div>\n<div>\n<ol>\n<li>Cut each batch of bars and jello into 1&#8243; sized squares. Set aside.<\/li>\n<li>Cover one 12&#8243;x 18&#8243; cake in chocolate buttercream on top of a solid cake board.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Having the second slab cake frozen helps with the next step, which is to cut it length wise into 2&#8243; wide strips. \u00a0Stack these strips on top of each other, along the back of the cake. Cover the stack entirely in chocolate buttercream.<\/li>\n<li>Stacking up the blocks (1&#8243; cubes) can be done in any pattern\/order that you choose.
