{"id":4911,"date":"2014-02-16T17:13:52","date_gmt":"2014-02-16T17:13:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.com\/?p=4911"},"modified":"2014-02-22T04:22:32","modified_gmt":"2014-02-22T04:22:32","slug":"dessert-fruit-pizza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/?p=4911","title":{"rendered":"Dessert Fruit Pizza"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The only thing that could possibly make pizza better than the greatest food it already is, is turning it into a dessert!! \u00a0This pizza is not the ordinary kind; it has a shortbread crust, cream cheese and cinnamon sauce, and is topped with tons of fresh fruit! \u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>We filmed this video while we were down in LA last week and it was quite the battle. \u00a0We were all set up to go when a security guard pulled up and asked if we had a permit for filming where we were. \u00a0We, said yes, YouTube knows we&#8217;re shooting here, and she said that it was not YouTube&#8217;s property that we were standing on. \u00a0We were literally five meters from the YouTube parking lot in some bushy area. \u00a0So, rather than attempt to fill out a form, pay a fee and wait for permission, we packed up and moved all of our stuff onto YouTube property. \u00a0The parking lot to be exact. \u00a0You have to love LA and it&#8217;s over abundance of requiring filming permits everywhere! \u00a0The security guard was just doing her job, but the property line was so close, it seemed absolutely ridiculous at the time. \u00a0So there we are in the parking lot, trying to have it not look like we were surround by asphalt and cars, and the wind starts blowing. \u00a0If you&#8217;ve ever been outside and tried to talk on the phone when the wind is blowing, you&#8217;ll know that it&#8217;s next to impossible for the person on the other end to hear you. \u00a0All they hear is &#8220;shsshshshshshshhshsh&#8221;. \u00a0The same goes with microphones when you&#8217;re filming! \u00a0So the wind was causing problems with the sound, and the wind also stirred something up that had my eyes burning and watering, nose running, and skin itching! \u00a0It was ridiculous! \u00a0In every shot I&#8217;m sniffing, I look like I&#8217;m scowling (but really I just can&#8217;t use my eyes) and I want to scratch my skin off. \u00a0It sucked! \u00a0Somehow we managed to shoot a video through all of this, and Paul did his magic and turned it into something watch-able. \u00a0It took him DAYS to edit. \u00a0I felt so bad, and so guilty! \u00a0<\/div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vM_bYqOf9MY\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The positive aspect to this shoot was that I got to work together with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.maangchi.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Maangchi<\/a>!\u00a0 She is a legendary Korean chef and has a YouTube channel of the same name- <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/maangchi\" target=\"_blank\">Maangchi<\/a>.\u00a0 She is the sweetest and spunkiest person you will ever meet!\u00a0 Make sure you check it out, subscribe to her and check out the random costumes\/accessories she wears in her videos . . . she&#8217;s an inspiration to me to be more relaxed with my videos and to have more FUN.\u00a0 Earlier in the day, before the security guard incident, we shot a video for her channel called Kimchi Stew and she showed me the ins and outs of how to make it, which is a backpacking type meal in Korea.\u00a0 It was so good.\u00a0 Like, so good.\u00a0 I hadn&#8217;t ever had Korean food before as I don&#8217;t count the one time I have tried kimchi as &#8220;Korean food&#8221;.\u00a0 The stew was spicy, hearty and crunchy, which is unlike any stew I had ever had in Canada before . . . and it had fish in it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div><!--more--><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Dessert Fruit Pizza<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><strong>Shortbread Crust:<\/strong><br \/>\u00be cup butter (180 g)<br \/>\u00bd cup icing sugar (50 g)<br \/>1 cup flour (120 g)<br \/>\u00bc teaspoon baking powder (~2 mL)<br \/>\u215b teaspoon salt (~1 mL)<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Gradually add flour, baking powder and salt and continue to mix until all ingredients are incorporated. You can do this with a stand mixer, hand mixer, or by using a wooden spoon.<\/p>\n<p>Bake in an 8&#8243; round pan at 325F for 40-45mins. You can also use a pizza pan, or on a cookie sheet. Arrange the dough like a pizza crust- flat with rounded edges. When the shortbread crust is golden brown it is ready to be removed from the oven.
