Last night I went to my first cooking class ever<\/strong>. \u00a0Well, I guess you could say it wasn’t technically a “cooking class”<\/strong> since there was no “cooking” involved, and really no “class” either. \u00a0It was pretty much one of those free exploration events . . . which is fine if you know what you’re doing, but I didn’t! \u00a0It was a Wilton Cookie Decorating with Fondant <\/em>class. \u00a0Let’s remember<\/strong> that I hate fondant. \u00a0This is a hate that developed due to it’s nasty taste (and my love affair with buttercream<\/strong> . . . pick your poison), so I was extra excited to come to the class to learn to love it.<\/p>\n

Here’s what was at our places when we got to the class . . .<\/p>\n

Crisco, a paint brush, and six colours of fondant . . . and a knife and a rolling pin (I figured you could identify those two things).<\/p>\n

Mostly, I just watched<\/strong> what everyone else was doing, as they looked like they knew more<\/strong> than I did. \u00a0I asked a couple questions about what to do with certain tools<\/strong> that the instructor had brought along. \u00a0Basically, I did my own thing. \u00a0It was fun and I’m happy<\/strong> to report that working with fondant is not as hard<\/strong> as I had envisioned.<\/p>\n

I could hear the $$<\/strong> running out of my bank account<\/strong> last night as I saw, and used all sorts of fondant tools<\/strong>. \u00a0So much for that house down payment. \u00a0I’m taking donations<\/strong> if you’re interested in contributing.<\/p>\n

I can’t wait to use the rest of the fondant that came in my kit . . . two more days until Christmas holiday’s and I’ll be baking up a storm.<\/p>\n
