To go off of my beaten blog path of videos, cakes and cupcakes, I want to take a moment to pay tribute to a beautiful woman whom I met about 4 years ago named Geneva. \u00a0I met her at a friend’s house, and loved her instantly. \u00a0She is incredibly bubbly, quick witted and sarcastic. \u00a0Her sarcasm is my favourite thing about her . . . says one sarcasm to another. . . but yes, it is. \u00a0I remember meeting her, unlike I remember meeting many people (sorry others) because she was sooooo friendly and so pretty to boot. \u00a0I wanted to be like her, with her flowing long red hair and killer personality. \u00a0When I left our mutual friend’s house (thank you J for the intro), I remember coming home and telling Paul, “I met the most amazing woman with the COOLEST name! \u00a0If we have kids, I want to name our daughter Geneva.” \u00a0It’s weird looking back and so vividly remembering I said that. \u00a0Now, as much as it may have seemed, Geneva was not alone at the house, she had her amazing husband (and handsome too! . . no K, I’m not hitting on you), and three adorable kids. \u00a0 From that initial meeting, we went to a couple movies together and she attended my early morning spin class exactly TWO times . . . she hated get up in the mornings she told me. \u00a0Geneva, on top of being this amazing woman was also a cake decorator!! \u00a0Could she be any more awesome?\u00a0<\/p>\n
Her cakes are stunning beauties, and you can see more on her first blog Three Kids in the Kitchen<\/a>. \u00a0Whenever I needed help with a technique or flower, she was there to tell me how to do it. \u00a0Her anemone’s are killer beautiful. \u00a0Take the time to scroll through her work. You will notice that her posts stop in 2011. \u00a0At this point, two years ago now, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and her life had begun My Unexpected Path<\/a> (her second blog).\u00a0<\/p>\n Geneva, through her two year battle with cancer showed incredible strength, faith and a realness that I imagine many hoped they could one day get past themselves to show. \u00a0I know I did. \u00a0She shared her inner most feelings, fears and hopes and throughout it all kept laughing, smiling and cracking out jokes loaded with sarcasm. \u00a0I often found myself breaking down in tears, and then bursting out laughing while reading her posts. \u00a0Throughout her journey I was able to catch up with her a couple of times and I was always amazed at her positivity, happiness and true bubbly self. \u00a0She was determined to win the battle, right up until the end. \u00a0Unfortunately, after her two year battle, she lost the fight, and has gone through her faith to serve a greater purpose. \u00a0 Her final post on her blog was a tribute to herself and who she truly was. \u00a0It had me sobbing, laughing and ended with me feeling a great sense of happiness. \u00a0Even in her death, she was able to bring a smile to my face, and a calming feeling that she was OK now. \u00a0<\/p>\n This tribute has popped up on Facebook and is a beautiful song for a beautiful lady. \u00a0<\/p>\n
