{"id":4089,"date":"2013-07-24T20:42:10","date_gmt":"2013-07-24T20:42:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.com\/?p=4089"},"modified":"2015-04-09T03:17:45","modified_gmt":"2015-04-09T03:17:45","slug":"rainbow-cupcakes-in-a-jar-how-to-make","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/?p=4089","title":{"rendered":"Rainbow Cupcakes in a Jar: How to Make"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this video, I show you how to make your own rainbow cupcakes in a jar! \u00a0I love the idea of these, and anything rainbow for that matter. \u00a0They are super fun to make, if you like dirty dishes&#8211;you end up with a ton whenever you bake &#8220;rainbow&#8221;. \u00a0You&#8217;ll need to find yourself some canning jars for this project. \u00a0I got mine at Target, and I&#8217;ve seen them available at many other box stores . . . and even in grocery stores, especially during canning season. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve gotten many questions from viewers regarding &#8220;How do I eat it?&#8221; \u00a0I thought that was self explanatory, but apparently not! \u00a0Well, you take a spoon and dig right in! \u00a0The cake to icing ratio is high on the cake side, but you&#8217;re bound to be able to look passed that with how cute these are! \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-n-SvmhlhnI\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>Items used in this rainbow cupcakes recipe:<br \/>&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/XaNELscDtms\" target=\"_blank\">Cake batter<\/a><br \/>&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/rjqOTM5icOE\" target=\"_blank\">Icing\/Frosting<\/a>\u00a0<br \/>&#8211; Gel paste color (we use AmeriColor)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/DSC_6148blog.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4116\" title=\"Rainbow cupcakes in a jar\" src=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/DSC_6148blog.jpg\" alt=\"Rainbow cupcakes in a jar\" width=\"604\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/DSC_6148blog.jpg 604w, https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/DSC_6148blog-300x198.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The first thing you&#8217;re going to need to do is prepare your vanilla cake batter, separate into six different bowls, and colour them separately, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. \u00a0Next, put each cake batter amount into a separate piping bag (or sealable bag), and cut the tip off. \u00a0Starting with the purple, squeeze a small amount of batter to cover the bottom of the jar. \u00a0Next, do the same with the blue, enough to cover the purple. \u00a0Repeat with all of the colours. \u00a0You want the jar to be about 1\/2 to 2\/3 full when you&#8217;ve put all of the batter into the jars. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Using a water bath, a cake pan with 1\/2&#8243; of water in the bottom, place the jars into the pan. \u00a0The water bath with help minimize the browning of the cake batter against the side of the jar.
