As much as I complained about winter and the cold in my last post, and I do have some moments when I’m not cursing and hating winter. \u00a0These moments are few . . . and far between . . . but they have happened! \u00a0This video is proof for all of you nay-sayers (aka my close friends who love my complaining ways).<\/p>\n
In this cardio video P and I made our way from Cranbrook (BC, Canada), to Kimberley (BC Canada) about a 20 minute drive, to the south end of the Kimberley Nature Park. \u00a0For those who know the area, we were actually closer to Marysville than we were to Kimberley. \u00a0 About five minutes along St Mary’s lake road, there is a small pull out and it was from here where we started our snowshoe, destined for Sunflower Hill. \u00a0<\/p>\n
At first we doubted whether or not we even wanted to bring the snowshoes along, as it looked like the path had been well travelled, but thankfully we did, because as soon as we were off the main branch of the trail, we needed them for the climbing! \u00a0The hike is not particularly difficult . . . there is only one part that is a longish hill climb, the rest of the trail is a steady low grade climb. \u00a0Once we got to the top of the hill, the views out into the St Mary’s Lake valley, and the Purcell mountains were amazing! \u00a0We were up later in the day, (as we had a dinner date with my parents at the ski hill and didn’t want to have to drive back and forth to Kimberley for it) and while we were at the top, we were treated to the start of a sunset. \u00a0It was beautiful! \u00a0<\/p>\n
If you ever get close to this area, visiting Sunflower Hill is a must! \u00a0I can’t wait to check it out in the spring, and fall! \u00a0I’m looking forward to seeing all of the flowers that I’m told carpet the hills. \u00a0<\/p>\n
