Hope you guys enjoy it:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" width=\"500\" height=\"311\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TLg3gxZ2SnM?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #d87093;\"><strong>Tutorial #1: How to Make a Fondant Rose<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The first step for you to do is to mix equal parts fondant and gum paste together.\u00a0 Roll out to about a 1\/4&#8243; thick and cut out a 1 cm diameter circle.\u00a0 Use this small piece of fondant and roll into a teardrop shape.\u00a0 This will be the base.\u00a0 Poke a toothpick into the larger end and set aside to dry.\u00a0 I use a block of flower arranging styrofoam to dry my flowers in.\u00a0 If you have time, allow the base to dry for a couple of hours.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSC02019.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1331\" title=\"How to Make a Fondant Rose\" src=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSC02019.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"213\" height=\"294\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The next step is to create the rose bud.\u00a0 Roll out fondant as in previous step, and using a five petal flower cutter, cut out a flower shape.\u00a0 For the bud only, cut off two petals, not ones that are adjacent.\u00a0 Using your ball tool, and a foam pad, thin the petals out to your desired thickness (personal preference is the best judge here).\u00a0 When you have thinned it, next you can wrap it around the base, as shown in the picture. \u00a0Use glue gum to &#8220;glue&#8221; petals into position. \u00a0You can also use water, but gum glue uses a bit more oomph! \u00a0If you allow the bud to dry, it will be easier to work with later.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSC02025_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1332\" title=\"How to Make a Fondant Rose\" src=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSC02025_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"241\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSC02025_2.jpg 241w, https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSC02025_2-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 241px) 100vw, 241px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, you&#8217;re ready to make the rest of the rose! \u00a0As shown below, using a larger five petal cutter, cut out \u00a0another set of petals. \u00a0Before you begin thinning your petals, make a small slice in between each petal, about an 1\/8&#8243;. \u00a0YOu can see this best in the bottom right hand petal in the picture below. \u00a0Next, you will thin this as you did for the bud.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSC02030_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1335\" title=\"How to Make a Fondant Rose\" src=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSC02030_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"241\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSC02030_2.jpg 241w, https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSC02030_2-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 241px) 100vw, 241px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When you have reached your desired thickness, you will apply the petals onto the rose bud, as you did previously. \u00a0I find it easiest to turn the bud upside down, prick the centre of the cut out with the toothpick, and slide the whole thing down the toothpick. \u00a0At this point, slightly offset the\u00a0petals with the ones from the previous bud, and use gum glue to hold in place.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSC02021_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1333\" title=\"How to Make a Fondant Rose\" src=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSC02021_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"237\" height=\"325\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSC02021_2.jpg 237w, https:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/DSC02021_2-218x300.jpg 218w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 237px) 100vw, 237px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s all there is to it!
