\u00a0This is our last Christmas tutorial video for 2014, so I hope that you enjoy it. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For a special Christmas video this year, I joined up with my friend Miki who has the YouTube channel<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/sugarcoder\" target=\"_blank\"> Sugarcoder<\/a>. \u00a0I was fortunate enough to have met Miki early this year, way back in February. \u00a0She lives in San Francisco and flew to LA to meet Paul and I when we were filming at YouTube Space LA. \u00a0She is one of the happiest and sweetest people I have met. \u00a0She is always sending me presents . . . that&#8217;s not why I like her, but it speaks to her thoughtfulness. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Miki previously had a different YouTube channel (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/MikisPantry\" target=\"_blank\">Miki&#8217;s Pantry<\/a>) and recently started this new one as it was more true to the brand that she wanted to convey. \u00a0I think that it was very brave of her to leave behind 60K subs to start all over again! \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Making this cake is basically just assembling many prepared pieces. \u00a0The links to everything you need to have prepared are in the recipe below, so make sure to check that out. \u00a0I found that the candy canes were mostly broken inside their wrappers, so I opted to leave the wrappers on the candy canes in order to not have to deal with that issue. \u00a0Just ensure that they are clean before placing them on to the cake.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Making macarons has always been a challenge for me, so when you head over to Miki&#8217;s channel, Sugarcoder, and try out her recipe, don&#8217;t get discouraged if you don&#8217;t succeed the first time. \u00a0The first time I made french macarons, I failed four times until I got it right. \u00a0Miki&#8217;s recipe is simple to follow, and she learned it first hand from a chef in San Francisco. \u00a0Give it your best effort, and remember to keep practicing if you&#8217;re not successful the first time. \u00a0Have fun!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/R7omovRpg5o\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Christmas Cake with Snowman Macarons<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>8&#8243; cake, buttercream covered (any flavour)\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Snowman macarons (see tutorial <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/QtTVsFhhwi0\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>)\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Peppermint sticks<\/li>\n<li>Mini candy canes<\/li>\n<li>White melted chocolate<\/li>\n<li>Silver cola balls<\/li>\n<li>Ice cream cones covered to look like trees (see tutorial <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/alL8dabsoGY\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>White sanding sugar<\/li>\n<li>Red 1\/4&#8243; ribbon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/DSC_0380site.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-6076\" title=\"Christmas Cake\" src=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/DSC_0380site.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas Cake\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/DSC_0380site.jpg 800w, http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/DSC_0380site-300x168.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div>Procedure:<\/div>\n<div>\n<ol>\n<li>Alternating between the peppermint sticks and mini candy canes, cover the side of the cake in a solid wall of candy.\u00a0 Line both up along the base of the cake, touching the cake board. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Using melted chocolate attach the cola balls to the top of the peppermint sticks. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Wrap ribbon around the top of the peppermint sticks, just above the candy canes.\u00a0 Tie in a bow.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>On the top of the cake, place the trees and sprinkle a small amount of icing sugar on the branches to give it the look of being covered in snow. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Place the snowmen macarons around the outside edge of the cake, in front of the trees.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle the sanding sugar on the top of the cake to complete it. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Serve when desired.\u00a0 You can store this cake in the fridge for 2-3 days. \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Make sure you check out Miki&#8217;s channel, Sugarcoder for everything you could ever want to learn about macarons!
