{"id":5088,"date":"2014-04-09T16:43:00","date_gmt":"2014-04-09T16:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.com\/?p=5088"},"modified":"2014-04-09T22:53:35","modified_gmt":"2014-04-09T22:53:35","slug":"how-to-make-cadbury-creme-egg-cupcakes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/?p=5088","title":{"rendered":"How to Make Cadbury Creme Egg Cupcakes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Every Easter, I used to eagerly anticipate the arrival of Cadbury Creme Eggs on the shelves, but since they have become a year round feature in the chocolate aisle, the excitement has lessened slightly. \u00a0Is this true where you are from? \u00a0In the last couple of years, I have started to notice that there have creme eggs for every season! \u00a0I guess when you have a good thing going, you want to capitalize on it! \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Despite their availability year round, I will not eat them at any time other than Easter. \u00a0RESIST THE CREME EGG! \u00a0Now, that is willpower unheard of by me!! \u00a0This year though, I found myself \u00a0wanting a new way to enjoy the eggs! \u00a0I think I had egg boredom. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So I thought, &#8220;why not put them in a cupcake for a new spin?! &#8221; \u00a0I knew the cupcake HAD to have a creme egg inside, flavoured buttercream, and another creme egg on top. \u00a0And of course the cupcake flavour had to be chocolate. \u00a0If you&#8217;re able to find Cadbury cocoa powder, you&#8217;re even better off for a &#8220;true&#8221; flavour match. \u00a0I didn&#8217;t have THAT much luck, but I can&#8217;t complain, since like I said before, I can get creme eggs all year round!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you have never had a Cadbury Creme Egg, I think you are totally missing out! \u00a0But, these are one of those things that people feel strongly about: they either love them, or hate them! \u00a0I will admit that they are very sweet, and usually make me cough (but I&#8217;m blaming the lingering effects of my chest infection for that this year). \u00a0The outer shell is chocolate, and in the inside, there is a creamy smooth yellow and white filling. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The only &#8220;difficulty&#8221; with this recipe is figuring out what time to put the eggs into the baking cupcakes. \u00a0I experimented with quite a few batches, before settling on placing a frozen egg into the cupcakes 15 minutes into the baking process. \u00a0I tried putting the frozen ones in immediately, at the 10 minute mark, and found that those 2 times were too long for the egg and the creme filling would leak out of the melted chocolate. \u00a0But, like I say in the tutorial, it will still taste good if it is melted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KqRaAviRrvc?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>How to Make Cadbury Creme Egg Cupcakes<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Cupcakes<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">Prepared <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bbDAJZhpvbo\" target=\"_blank\">chocolate cake batter<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">Frozen Cadbury mini eggs (2 per cupcake)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Buttercream<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">3\/4 cups butter<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">3 cups icing sugar<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">1\/2 teaspoon almond extract<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">1\/2 teaspoon vanilla extract<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">pinch of salt<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">2-3 tablespoons milk<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/DSC_2960blog.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-5100\" title=\"Cadbury Creme Egg Cupcakes \" src=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/DSC_2960blog.jpg\" alt=\"Cadbury Creme Egg Cupcakes \" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/DSC_2960blog.jpg 800w, http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/DSC_2960blog-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Procedure<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Cupcakes<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Remove wrappers from creme eggs, and place in freezer. \u00a0Prepare chocolate cake batter. \u00a0Preheat oven to 350F. \u00a0Line cupcake pan with preferred cupcake liners.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Fill each cupcake well with 1\/2 &#8211; 2\/3 worth of batter. \u00a0Place into preheated oven, and bake for 15 minutes.
