{"id":4557,"date":"2013-12-06T19:49:42","date_gmt":"2013-12-06T19:49:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.com\/?p=4557"},"modified":"2013-12-06T19:50:46","modified_gmt":"2013-12-06T19:50:46","slug":"christmas-tree-cupcakes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/?p=4557","title":{"rendered":"Christmas Tree Cupcakes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Does anyone else hate having a Christmas tree?\u00a0 I&#8217;m not being a Grinch here, I&#8217;m pretty much just being lazy.\u00a0 Every year Paul and I go hunting for our own Christmas tree, as well as one for my parents, way out in the bush somewhere.\u00a0 Having never done this as a child (other than going down to the local grocery store parking lot) it is a tradition that I look forward to every year (even though I don&#8217;t like putting up the tree anymore).\u00a0 I think the reason that I don&#8217;t like putting up the tree is because I don&#8217;t like taking it down.\u00a0 When I was younger and living at home with my parents, every year I would pull all of the boxes out and decorate the house with such excitement- and then I would leave the mess for my mom to put away after the holiday.\u00a0 Since Paul and I have lived together we have had a tree twice but in the recent years, we&#8217;ve only gone out looking for my parents.\u00a0 I just can&#8217;t get over putting all the ornaments away and taking the tree down!\u00a0 It&#8217;s pathetic.<\/p>\n<p>So instead up putting up a tree in my house, I&#8217;ll happily put up a tree on a cupcake!\u00a0 This is a different twist on how to make a Christmas tree cupcake, rather than just piping a huge pile of buttercream on top (not that I don&#8217;t love that variation) but this one is more for looks!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/alL8dabsoGY\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Christmas Tree Cupcakes<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><br \/>cupcakes<br \/>sugar ice cream cones<br \/>green buttercream with Wilton tips 352 and 18<br \/>white buttercream<br \/>shredded coconut<br \/>candy covered sunflower seeds<br \/>star sprinkles <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/DSC_0641blog.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-4595\" title=\"Christmas Tree Cupcakes\" src=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/DSC_0641blog.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas Tree Cupcakes\" width=\"600\" height=\"397\" srcset=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/DSC_0641blog.jpg 800w, http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/DSC_0641blog-300x198.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Procedure:<\/strong><br \/>Using the white buttercream, cover the top of the cupcake.\u00a0 Dip the edges of the cupcake into the shredded coconut and press the sugar cone into place in the centre of the cupcake.\u00a0 Using the green buttercream, starting at the bottom, cover the sugar cone in &#8220;branches&#8221;
