using fresh strawberries and strawberry puree!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dh8ii5sbvyc\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Our vanilla buttercream <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/rjqOTM5icOE\" target=\"_blank\">video<\/a>.<br \/>NOTE: \u00a0To make strawberry puree, just blend fresh or frozen strawberries in a blender<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/DSC_7352blog.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4119\" title=\"Strawberry cake\" src=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/DSC_7352blog.jpg\" alt=\"Strawberry cake\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/DSC_7352blog.jpg 600w, http:\/\/cookiescupcakesandcardio.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/DSC_7352blog-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Strawberry Cake:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><em>This makes one 9 inches (23 centimeters) round double layer cake, one 9 inches x 13 inches (23 centimeters x 33 centimeters), or 18-22 cupcakes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u2154 cup (160 milliliters) strawberry puree -about 1 \u2153 cup whole strawberries, fresh or frozen, thawed<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u00bd cup (240 milliliters) milk<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">1 teaspoon (5 milliliters) vanilla extract<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">3 cups (360 grams) all purpose flour<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">2 teaspoon (10 grams) baking powder<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">2 teaspoon (10 grams) baking soda<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u00bd teaspoon (2.5 grams) salt \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">1 cup (240 grams) butter<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">2 cups (400 grams) sugar<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">2 large (104 grams) eggs<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">4 large (136 grams) egg whites<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Procedure:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Preheat oven to 350\u02daF\/180\u02daC. \u00a0Grease two 9 inch (23 centimeter) round cake pans and set aside.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Puree strawberries in a blender or food processor, and place into a medium sized bowl. \u00a0Add milk and vanilla to puree, and mix ingredients together. \u00a0Set aside.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. \u00a0Set aside. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In the bowl of a stand mixer, fitted with the paddle attachment, cream butter and sugar in mixer on medium low speed until light and fluffy. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Slowly add eggs and egg whites one at a time, and incorporate into butter mixture. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Add half of the flour mixture, and stir on low briefly. \u00a0Add half of the strawberry mixture, and continue to mix to incorporate fully. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Repeat with remaining flours and strawberry mixtures, and mix to ensure no lumps remain.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Divide batter equally between prepared cake pans [or one 9 inches x 13 inches (23 centimeters x 33 centimeters) cake pan] and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean. \u00a0If making cupcakes, bake for 20 minutes in lined \u00be filled muffin tins.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Allow to cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes, remove from pan, and cool completely on a wire rack. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Once cooled completely, frost as desired. \u00a0Try pairing this with our Vanilla Buttercream.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Slice and serve immediately. \u00a0The cake can be kept in a sealed container in the fridge for 2-3 days<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>For the buttercream topping:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>&#8211;
