Eggnog is a treat that has always signified Christmas to me.\u00a0 I can remember from a young age as soon as the eggnog came out, Christmas had begun!\u00a0 Yes, it\u2019s full of fat, and if you make it from scratch it has raw eggs in it, but just ignore those small, insignificant details :).\u00a0 Now, as an adult (really? How did that happen?) I love it with a little shot of spiced rum, on ice, and it\u2019s heaven in a cup.\u00a0 I do have to admit that as much as I love eggnog, I find it extremely \u201ccommercial\u201d that it is now coming out in grocery stores immediately after Halloween.\u00a0 Seriously, do we really need the indulgence of eggnog for two months instead of one?<\/p>\n

Eggnog is something that is readily available in North America, and if you\u2019re one of my non-NA readers\/viewers, you should definitely track down a bottle of your own, or attempt to make it!\u00a0 It\u2019s so worth it.\u00a0 You can start your own tradition of eggnog in the glasses signifying Christmas to YOUR family.\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait to head up to my mom and dad\u2019s to enjoy our first glass of official Christmas cheer . . . everything I had in November doesn\u2019t count, right?<\/p>\n

The recipe:<\/p>\n

Eggnog Cake Ingredients:
1\/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1\/4 teaspoon baking soda
1\/4 teaspoon baking powder
1\/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sugar
1 1\/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup eggnog
1\/4 cup vegetable oil<\/p>\n

Eggnog Frosting Ingredients:
3\/4 cup butter
2 1\/2 cups icing sugar (powdered sugar)
1 pinch nutmeg
1 pinch salt
2 1\/2 tablespoons eggnog<\/p>\n

The batter in these cupcakes is rather runny (thin like) but it batter bakes up into a moist cupcake that literally melts in your mouth!\u00a0 They taste like Christmas in your mouth!<\/p>\n

A friend of mine, who brought one home for her husband, said it looked like he was having an orgasm as he ate it!\u00a0 <\/p>\n
