to have THAT happen to them?!?!?!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These cupcakes are inspired by the magical mystery of rainbows that brighten a day, just by appearing in the sky. \u00a0It sounds like I&#8217;m on a fabulous LSD trip or something, but since us teachers are back to work tomorrow, I assure you, there are no psychedelics inspiring this post!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>These rainbow cupcakes are actually quite simple to make\u00a0<strong>but<\/strong>\u00a0prepare yourself for a <strong>lot<\/strong> of dirty dishes! \u00a0This recipe will have you going through one mixing bowl, six batter bowls, and 12 spoons . . . at least! \u00a0You will also need gel paste colour in the following colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. \u00a0Using gel pastes will get you the vibrant colours that you see in the ones that I made. \u00a0You can also use liquid food dye, you will just see a slightly more subtle rainbow.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Get your ingredients ready, cupcakes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ingredients\/Materials:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Vanilla Cake<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Vanilla Buttercream<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple gel paste<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Procedure:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Preheat oven to 350\u02daF\/180\u02daC. \u00a0Line cupcake pans with liners.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Prepare cake batter as indicated in the recipe and then separate batter into six different bowls. \u00a0In the first bowl, add a \u00bd teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) of red gel paste. \u00a0Mix completely until no light batter remains. \u00a0In the second bowl, add a \u00bd teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) of orange gel paste. \u00a0Mix completely until no light batter remains. \u00a0In the third bowl, add a \u00bd teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) of yellow gel paste. \u00a0Mix completely until no light batter remains. \u00a0In the fourth bowl, add a \u00bd teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) of green gel paste. \u00a0Mix completely until no light batter remains. \u00a0In the fifth bowl, add a \u00bd teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) of blue gel paste. \u00a0Mix completely until no light batter remains. \u00a0In the last bowl, add a \u00bd teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) of purple gel paste. \u00a0Mix completely until no light batter remains.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Add about 3 teaspoons (15 milliliters) of each colour to each cupcake well. \u00a0The cupcake liners should be about \u2154 full when all six colours have been added. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean. \u00a0Allow to cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes, remove from pan, and cool cupcakes completely on a wire rack.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><iframe Buttercream<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">While cupcakes are cooling, prepare buttercream as directed by recipe. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">For Rainbow icing \u2014 Separate icing into six different bowls. \u00a0In the first bowl, add a \u00bd teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) of red gel paste. \u00a0Mix completely until no light icing remains. \u00a0In the second bowl, add a \u00bd teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) of orange gel paste. \u00a0Mix completely until no light icing remains. \u00a0In the third bowl, add a \u00bd teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) of yellow gel paste. \u00a0Mix completely until no light icing remains. \u00a0In the fourth bowl, add a \u00bd teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) of green gel paste. \u00a0Mix completely until no light icing remains. \u00a0In the fifth bowl, add a \u00bd teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) of blue gel paste. \u00a0Mix completely until no light icing remains. \u00a0In the last bowl, add a \u00bd teaspoon (2.5 milliliters) of purple gel paste. \u00a0Mix completely until no light icing remains.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Prepare your piping bag with the 1M tip in the end and open the top wide. \u00a0Imagine that the opening of the bag is a clock. \u00a0At 12:00, place a dollop of red, 1:00, a dollop of orange, 3:00, a dollop of yellow, 4:00, a dollop of green, 6:00, a dollop of blue and at 9:00, the purple. \u00a0Repeat until the piping bag is full and ready to be used. \u00a0This techniques ensures that you will have a range of colours that come out of the tip when piping.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">To ice the cupcakes, place a dollop of icing in the centre of the cupcake. \u00a0Then, pipe a loop around and over top of the center dollop to finish off your cupcake. \u00a0The colours should swirl together for a great rainbow look. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Serve immediately, or store in the fridge in a sealed container for 2-3 days. \u00a0Allow buttercream to come to room temperature (about one hour) if they have been in the fridge before serving.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Here is picture of some other beautiful rainbow
