\"\"<\/a>My mom and dad happen to celebrate their anniversary on the 1st of February, so this year I made a personalized cake with a Valentine’s Day feel to it!\u00a0 Unbelievable, it is their 34th anniversary!\u00a0 I say unbelievably because that is more years than I have been alive . . . can you imagine being with someone for THIRTY FOUR years?\u00a0 Relationships are certainly worth working for <3. \u00a0<\/p>\n

My dad in secret asked me to make a cake to surprise my mom with.\u00a0 I totally took advantage of my dad saying, “Make whatever you want,” (LOVE the freedom of design) . . . so what better to make than a Heart Shaped, Valentine’s Day<\/span> cake!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The cake is a moist chocolate (which is a favourite in my family, and customers), filled with strawberry buttercream, and covered in vanilla buttercream and fondant.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The C & C is for my parents . . . their first names, and you could personalize it for anyone you want to make the cake for!\u00a0<\/p>\n

I LOVE<\/span><\/strong> the X’s and O’s border . . . they are from a Wilton set of cutters that a friend of mine found for me on discount at TJ Maxx!\u00a0 I love receiving unexpected gifts . . . especially knowing she got a killer deal on them!\u00a0\u00a0 I used a combination of vodka and luster dust to coat the hearts and make them shine.\u00a0 You can’t tell from the picture, but the hearts on the top actually looked like jelly close up from the shine I painted on.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Don’t be worried about covering a heart shaped cake in fondant! \u00a0It’s actually pretty simple . . . it’s just like covering a round cake…and easier than a square. \u00a0<\/p>\n
